Today, we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Dr. Dan Goggins, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel. Dr. Goggins concludes an impressive 33-year career in education, with the past 15 years dedicated to serving District 228. His leadership, commitment, and impact have left a lasting legacy. Congratulations, Dr. Goggins — you will be truly missed!
In celebration of Juneteenth, all D228 buildings are closed today.
At last night’s Board of Education meeting, the D228 Board proudly swore in our newly appointed board member, Laurence Patterson II. He will fill the vacancy left by Marquita Marshall Motley. We’re excited to welcome Mr. Patterson to the team and look forward to his contributions as we continue to serve the students, families, and staff of District 228.
The Hillcrest High School main building will be closed from Monday, June 16, until Thursday, June 25, to facilitate essential building maintenance. This closure is necessary to ensure the continued safety and functionality of our facilities.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Our team is working diligently to complete the necessary work promptly. Additionally, we will have a staff member at Door 25 to answer any questions. Please also feel free to leave a message on our voicemail and someone will return your call.

BDTV 228 SPORTS MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Become a part of the exciting sports broadcasting and writing world by covering your school’s sports stories as a press intern. A variety of roles and skills are needed including photographers, content writing, and videographers. All students will be trained in sports videotaping, content writing skills, and receive media byline recognition through our partnership with The Patch.
Dates(s): June 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th

Want to become a filmmaker? Join the free BDTV 228 Film Camp this summer. Through four fun filled days you will learn through a variety of hands-on activities the process of filmmaking using professional equipment. Activities include how to write a script, produce, light, shoot, and edit short films. Register for this free camp by scanning the qr code.

TPHS Senior Honors Night was one for the books! Congratulations to all of our amazing TITANS!
Last night, D228 held its bi-annual board reorganization meeting. We said farewell and extended heartfelt thanks to Debi Stearns and Marquita Marshall Motley for their dedicated service on our school board. We warmly welcomed our newest board member, Alicia Soliz, and celebrated the reelection of Mary List and Evelyn Gleason. A special thank you to Honorable Judge Michael Barrett for swearing in our board members!
