Oak Forest High School’s Dr. Michael Boniface was recently recognized by the Illinois Directors of Student Activities (IDSA) with the Student Activity Director Recognition Award, honoring his outstanding work in developing and strengthening the school’s student activities programs .

The award recognizes activity directors across Illinois who consistently make meaningful contributions to extracurricular programming and student engagement. Dr. Boniface was nominated by Principal Jane Dempsey, who praised the impact he has made on students and the overall culture at Oak Forest.

“Dr. Michael Boniface deserves recognition as an outstanding Student Activity Director for the impact he delivers at Oak Forest High School,” Dempsey said. “He strengthens school culture and grows leadership. He goes above and beyond for our activities program and is outstanding in his profession.”

Over the past five years, Dr. Boniface has helped expand and energize student involvement at Oak Forest. From clubs and performances to leadership events and school traditions, his focus has remained the same: helping students find where they belong.

“I’m truly grateful to be nominated by our principal, Jane Dempsey, and recognized by the Illinois Directors of Student Activities,” said Dr. Boniface. “Being recognized by peers at IDSA who regularly inspire me is an incredible honor.

“When a student joins a club, plays on a team, performs on stage, or helps lead an event, something shifts. They find purpose. They gain confidence. They learn how to lead and how to support others. Those experiences shape who they become — and for the past five years, I have loved being a part of that process.”

Dr. Boniface accepted the award at the IDSA Awards Banquet and Convention on February 24, 2026 . He was quick to credit the staff at Oak Forest for the recognition. “This honor reflects our entire team,” he said. “Our staff is willing to try new ideas and put in the work to make them happen. Together, we’ve built something special in Bengal Nation.”

District Administration is proud to congratulate Dr. Boniface for this outstanding achievement.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Boniface and the leadership he brings to Oak Forest High School,” said Superintendent Dr. Sikora. “He has built a culture where students feel connected, empowered, and excited to be involved. His work has strengthened Bengal Nation in ways that will impact students long after they graduate. This recognition by IDSA is a reflection of the passion and commitment he shows every single day.”

Oak Forest High School and Bremen High School District 228 congratulate Dr. Boniface on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for the energy, creativity, and care he brings to students each day.
