Bremen High School District 228 is celebrating two Exemplary school designations and a district graduation rate of 92.4%, according to the newly released Illinois Report Card.

Tinley Park High School and Oak Forest High School earned Exemplary designations, while Bremen High School and Hillcrest High School received Commendable designations. The results recognize achievement across the district’s four high schools and reflect the shared efforts of students, educators, staff, and families.

“Having two schools earn Exemplary designations is a tremendous source of pride for District 228,” said Superintendent Dr. Brad Sikora. “We celebrate Tinley Park and Oak Forest high schools for this recognition, alongside the accomplishments of Bremen and Hillcrest. These results reflect the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families. We will continue building on that work so every student has the support and opportunities to succeed.”

The district’s 92.4% graduation rate highlights an important milestone in helping students complete high school and prepare for their next steps, including college, career training, employment, and military service.

The district’s 97.2% ninth-grade-on-track rate highlights students’ progress toward graduation early in their high school experience. This indicator measures whether freshmen are earning the credits and passing the core courses needed to stay on track to graduate.

Career exploration and skill development remain an important part of that preparation. The report card lists 3,033 Career and Technical Education participants, including 2,007 CTE concentrators, reflecting students’ participation in coursework that connects classroom learning with career pathways.

The Illinois Report Card provides families and community members with information about school performance, student outcomes, learning environments, and district resources. Along with celebrating this year’s accomplishments, District 228 will use the results to guide continued improvement and strengthen support for students across all four schools.

District 228 thanks its students for their hard work, its educators and staff for their dedication, and its families and community partners for their continued support.
