Bremen High School District 228 hosted Junior Achievement’s JA Town at Bremen High School on Friday, February 27.

JA Town is a capstone program focused on personal financial planning and career exploration. With the support of community volunteers, 185 students developed realistic personal budgets that included income, housing, utilities, transportation, food, self-care, education, savings, and insurance.

Students selected careers from a variety of career clusters and applied real-world financial skills, including budgeting, saving, managing credit and debt, and understanding insurance.

This hands-on simulation reinforced the concepts students learn in their Personal Finance course by providing a meaningful, real-world application.

Junior Achievement is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching students financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
