ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2008

~ LITERARY MAGAZINE: The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 16, at 3:00 p.m. in Room 223. Club pictures will be taken. Refreshments will be served. (S. O’Malley)

~ ART/ANIME CLUB: There will be a meeting Wednesday, October 15th at 3:00 p.m. in Room 122. See Mr. Harmon for details. (M. Harmon)

~ SPANISH CLUB MEETING: The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 15 in Room 114. We will be decorating sugar skulls to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Everyone is welcome. See Ms. King if you have questions. (K. King)

~ MOCK ELECTION: Our two Presidential candidates have expressed their views on many topics. Education: John McCain would like to see more charter schools, and vouchers for private schools that would reduce the cost of tuition for parents who are not able to afford it. Obama wants to provide for high quality early childhood education and daycare, and recruit talented teachers to our nations inner cities where they are needed most. Who do you agree with? Vote in the Mock Election on October 21?

~ATTENTION: Entrepreneurship Club will be sponsoring our fourth annual 3 on 3 Student/Faculty basketball tournaments on Monday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. in both gyms.  Our "Shooting 4 Nationals" tournament will donate part of the proceeds to the Tinley Park High School Pom Squad to help them with their fundraising efforts to go to national competition in Florida. We are looking for a maximum of ten teams to participate.  Please see Mrs. Munoz in room 216 for a registration packet.  The deadline for registering your team is Monday, October 20th.

Staff members interested in playing can talk to Coach Brown or Katie Udstuen.

~ COMPUTER CLUB: Have you ever thought about making a website?  If so, the Computer Club is meeting on Wed October 15th in room 216 at 3pm.  Anyone interested may attend. There is no prior website knowledge necessary.  All new members are welcome. 

~ ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Do you want to be part of the Tinley’s school spirit club, Scarlet Fever? We will be meeting on Wednesday after school in the IMC to talk about upcoming sporting events and make posters. New members are always welcome. Snacks will be served. See Ms. Link or Mrs. Udstuen if you need more information. (K. Udstuen)
