Parents Count

ParentsCount is a parent resource site developed by The MASTER Teacher, Inc., and brought to you as a service of Bremen High School District 228.  The purpose of this site is to provide authoritative information parents need to be well-informed and well-prepared to help children succeed in school, and to make it easier for parents and the school district to work together for the benefit of the district's students.

Through this web site, we are now providing guidance for parents in areas such as discipline and communication, as well as strategies for helping their children succeed and achieve in school.  ParentsCount is divided into four main sections: Guidance, FAQ, Glossary, and Discipline Help.

  • The "Guidance" section contains over 60 articles with useful information about how schools operate, what to expect from the child's school and teachers, and what parents can do to help their child be more successful in school.

  • The "FAQ" or "Frequently Asked Questions" section contains an A-to-Z list f the most common questions parents have about such topics as school, behavior, and raising children.

  • The "Glossary" defines more than 240 of the most common - and commonly misunderstood - educational terms.

  • The "Discipline Help" section contains the entire book, You Can Handle Them All: Parent Edition, by Robert L. DeBruyn and Jack L. Larson, Ph.D.  This section gives parents the resources to recognize 117 common misbehaviors as well as practical, proven strategies for managing these behaviors.
