COURSE DESCRIPTION
Childcare is a one year course.  The purpose of this class is to improve the quality of life for children and their families and to contribute to the professional development of practitioners in training.  This course will consist of theory and laboratory work.  The theory and laboratory work will be based on the philosophy "children learn through play".  Since this course requires additional skill time, the course length is two hours per day.  Students will attain two credits by taking this course.
Students enrolled in the Childcare class have the opportunity to earn college credit from the South Suburban College dual credit program and bypass the beginning level child development class.  The students must meet the specified guidelines of the college and high school articulation agreement.
