Text Box: · Our second SIP Day is scheduled for Wednesday 10/17/07.  After a brief meeting in the cafeteria, we will break up into departmental meetings to work on goals.
· Advisory Supervisors -  We are asking that you continue to encourage the students to arrive on time for the mentoring program.  Please do not hesitate to issue consequences for students who come to advisory late.
· Safety & Security - Accountability– Our goal is to make sure that our students have an ID every period, everyday.  We can do a much better job of securing our building when we know who belongs in the building.  Please check to ensure your students are wearing a valid ID (IDs are issued in the cafeteria daily through 3rd hour).  The Deans will issue consequences for ID policy violations.   Your cooperation is appreciated.  Thank you.
· During Professional Council - a hot topic - the issue of supervision during assemblies generated much discussion.  Your suggestions and comments are welcomed as to how we can do a better job of supervising students during assemblies.  Please email me.
· Timothy Jarod McCulley, the nephew of Marie Young-Carr recently passed away.  Please offer your condolences to her.
· I will be out of the office attending the IPA conference in Peoria, IL.  See you on Wednesday 10/17/07.

· The Title I Meeting has been scheduled for October 18th @ 6:30 p.m. in the IMC.
· The SES After School Tutoring Meeting will take place in November.  If you know of students that will benefit from tutoring, please refer them to Dave Staden.  Thank you.

· Congratulations to Alecia Jenkins for winning the Conference Championship in 2nd singles.  She will compete this weekend in the HF Tennis Sectional Friday and Saturday.
· Congratulations to Clarrie Johnson for placing 2nd in 1st singles during the SSC Conference Tennis meet.  She too will be competing this weekend in the HF Tennis Sectional.
· A very big congratulations goes to Chris Hennessy and his Lady Hawk Tennis team.  They were voted the Sportsmanship Award in the SSC Blue Division.  Great work Chris and Program.
· Please wish our football team good luck as they battle Bremen this Friday night in Midlothian.  Varsity game time is 7:00 p.m. 
· Please wish our cross country teams good luck as they compete in their conference meet this weekend. 
· Our varsity volleyball team defeated Seton Academy this week.  Come out and support our ladies on their senior night October 18th at 5;00 p.m. versus Bremen.
Activities
· We have 16 students participating in Snowball Weekend October 18 - 19, 2007.  We hope our students will have a wonderful experience.  Thank you to our adult volunteers.  Michele Collins, Carissa Schwab, Mike Cicirale and Denise Sarpy for you courageousness in spending the weekend with so many teenagers.
· The following Hillcrest students have been nominated to represent the school at the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) James Dawson, Michael Young, Clarrie Johnson, Alecia Jenkins, Joi Henry, Jasmine Barnes, Craigory Vaughn, Antonio Williams, Erika Swain and Khalidah Medlock.  Several alumni of Hillcrest have participated in previous NYLF Programs including Marlan Foster, Darneshia Ellis, Markesha Patterson, Tiffany Foster and Nina Terrell.
