2009 Boys Tennis Preview

The 2009 season brings depth and experience to the Varsity Hawks they haven’t seen in some time. Leading the way for this 2009 edition are co-captains Marlan Foster and Dennis Bobo. They team together again this year  at first doubles, looking to lead the team twice as many victories as last year.

Also returning from last year’s varsity squad are seniors Raphael Daniels, Quintin Collins, and Jawan Adams. Jawan appears to have settled into the number one singles position while Raphael and Quintin look to anchor doubles teams. Moving up from the Frosh/Soph team are juniors Julian Mabry , Sunny Patel, and Dujuan Love. Doubles positions are theirs for the taking and the competition should make for a stronger team.

Joining the Varsity squad are newcomers Barritt Chestleigh, Josh Hobson, Jamaal King, Andre Jones, and Paul  Jordan. How fast they develop will determine their roles.

The frosh-soph squad returns just one player, sophomore David Price. David returns to his position at first singles. Freshmen newcomers include Ryan Hoskins, Sean Fouch, Martin Murray, and Randall Jones. They have been working hard at developing their games. Their future and the program’s, looks promising.
