The Bremen High School Jazz Band and Jazz Combo competed at the Chicago Area Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 28, 2009. The Jazz Band earned a 1st rating from the esteemed judging panel. The Jazz Combo earned a first ratings and also cpatured Grand Champion honors. This is the second year in a row that the combo has earned this honor. Outstanding jazz musicians named from Bremen H.S. include Sarahlois Guarnera, Tom Mullen, Deleon Daniels, and Terrance Smith.

The 2009 District 228 Fine Arts Festival will be held at Oak Forest High School on Thursday, March 5, 2009. The art exhibits will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The musical concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The festivalis free and open to the public. Click below for more information.

The 2009 SSC Music Festival will be held at Lemont High School on Wedensday, March 4, 2009. The choir will perform in the morning and receive a clinic. All-conference band members will rehearse during the day and perform at an evening concert. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Lemont High School. The concert is free. Below is a link for band students to listen to recordings of the Symphonic Band literature that will be performed at the festival. They have been given the username and password. The IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest will be held at Richards High School this school year. The date of the contest is Saturday, March 7, 2009.

The Bremen Marching Braves won 2nd place in class A at the Metamora Marching Invitational, held at Metamora High School on Saturday, October 11, 2008! They were also chosen as Best Winds in class A!

This final competetive performance was an excellent ending to a successful competition season. The Marching Braves would like to especially thank all of the parents who traveled with us to the competitions to help out and to cheer us on. We would further like to thank the Esparza, Stadter, O'Connor, Edwards, Lundeen, and West families for their extra effort on the competition days and for building the set, designing the flags,, and for the use of their vehicles. THANK YOU!

The Bremen H.S. Band was featured in the Neighborhood section of the August 17th publication of the Southtown Star.

The Bremen H.S. Band and Color Guard participated in their first fundraiser of the new season on Sunday, August 10th. Twenty-six students, parents, and staff volunteered to help set-up, tear-down, work the food lines, slice vegetables, pick up garbage, and run the children's games at the Graycor company picnic. The group worked from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thanks to Mr. Lundeen for the pictures below, and to all of the parents for their outstanding support and efforts. Thank you!

The Bremen H.S. Jazz Band and Jazz Combo competed at the Chicago Area Jazz Festival in March. The Jazz Band earned a 1st rating and the Jazz Combo was awarded the coveted Grand Champion traveling trophy in the combo division. The Grand Champion honor is a first for any Bremen music ensemble. Outstanding jazz musician awards were presented to senior saxophonist Jeremy DiGangi, junior drummer Deleon Daniels, and sophomore trombonist Brian Stadter.

Congratulations to the Marching Braves on their first ever field show trophies! The Marching Braves competed at th Chicagoland Marching Band Festival on September 29, 2007 and won 1st place in class A. The Marching Braves then went on to place 3rd in a very competitive class A at the Metamora Marching Invitational on October 13, 2007. In addition to their well earned 3rd place trophy, they also brought home the Best Winds Award in class A. The Bremen Marching Braves competed this year with their field show titled "Gotham and Metropolis". Their show featured music from the Batman and Superman movies.
