Bremen H.S. Bands featured in the Southtown Star

Incredible Events Fundraiser
The Bremen H.S. Band and Color Guard participated in their first fundraiser of the new season on Sunday, August 10th. Twenty-six students, parents, and staff volunteered to help set-up, tear-down, work the food lines, slice vegetables, pick up garbage, and run the children's games at the Graycor company picnic. The group worked from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The group earned $1350 for their hard, but fun work on this day. A portion of the earnings will be allocated for the general band account and a portion will be allocated for a proposed upcoming overnight field trip to Cleveland, Ohio (pending approval). Thanks to Mr. Lundeen for the pictures below, and to all of the parents for their outstanding support and efforts. Thank you!

1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily at Bremen H.S.

Jazz Students Win Grand Champion At Chicago Area Jazz Festival
The Bremen H.S. Jazz Band and Jazz Combo competed at the Chicago Area Jazz Festival in March. The Jazz Band earned a 1st rating and the Jazz Combo was awarded the coveted Grand Champion traveling trophy in the combo division. The Grand Champion honor is a first for any Bremen music ensemble. Outstanding jazz musician awards were presented to senior saxophonist Jeremy DiGangi, junior drummer Deleon Daniels, and sophomore trombonist Brian Stadter.
MARCHING BRAVES WIN AWARDS!
Congratulations to the Marching Braves on their first ever field show trophies! The Marching Braves competed at th Chicagoland Marching Band Festival on September 29, 2007 and won 1st place in class A. The Marching Braves then went on to place 3rd in a very competitive class A at the Metamora Marching Invitational on October 13, 2007. In addition to their well earned 3rd place trophy, they also brought home the Best Winds Award in class A. The Bremen Marching Braves competed this year with their field show titled "Gotham and Metropolis". Their show featured music from the Batman and Superman movies.
